What are the responsibilities and job description for the Referral Specialist position at Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida?
Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida is a premier physician owned primary care practice with locations in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Lehigh Acres. We are seeking a Referral Specialist to join our Administration team in Fort Myers.
Sample of Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service to both our internal and external customers
- Obtain referral information from the provider including diagnosis and specialist name
- Schedule appointments within 48 hours and notify authorizations when necessary
- Contact patient with appointment details including office direction
- Record information accurately into our patient management system
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
Position Requirements:
- Experience working in a high volume medical office environment
- Great attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Ability to handle all interactions in a professional, friendly and enthusiastic manner
- Excellent and professional customer service skills
- Knowledge of insurances, referrals, and eligibility a must
- One year of medical office experience or a combination of medical education and office experience
