Our Client, a Well-known Prestigious University, is seeking a Benefits Analyst in their New York, NY location.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and analytical support to the Benefits Operations and Systems team, including creating reports and analyzing data to support decision-making.
- Assist the Health and Welfare team with various projects such as benefit program rollouts, Open Enrollment, plan updates, employee communications, and compliance tasks.
- Help with daily benefit administration tasks by working closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services.
- Handle employee inquiries for at least one hour per day (or as needed) through phone, email, walk-ins, Service Now, or the Message Center—providing helpful, clear, and timely support.
- Work with other departments like HRIS, Payroll, and Legal to help resolve benefits-related issues and ensure consistent processes.
- Stay informed on benefit policies and compliance requirements to assist with audits, system updates, and documentation.
- Support improvements to benefits systems and processes by participating in testing, sharing ideas, and helping create guides or training materials.
- Take on special projects as needed—this could include reviewing vendor performance, gathering employee feedback, or assisting with data reviews and reporting.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data with accuracy and efficiency.
- Excellent Excel skills: VBLookup, Formulas, Pivots tables,
- SQL experience (preferably PS SQL)
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as PeopleSoft, Workday, or similar systems.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and summaries for various stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in crafting clear and effective benefit-related communications.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of benefits compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, ACA, COBRA) is a plus.
- Willingness to be flexible and adapt to shifting priorities and business needs.
