Our Client is looking for a Data Governance Manager in their New York, New York Location!
Key Responsibilities:
Data Quality Governance:
- Lead and support initiatives focused on a defined set of critical data elements to ensure alignment with internal policies and procedures, including data ownership, controls, and cataloging.
Data Lineage Documentation & Analysis:
- Create and maintain detailed data lineage documentation that captures the end-to-end data flow, transformation logic, and system interactions from source to consumption.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with business stakeholders, data owners, product managers, and technology teams to map data flows and better understand upstream and downstream data dependencies.
Data Governance Enhancements:
- Identify and address gaps in data governance and quality standards. Recommend actionable improvements to enhance data transparency and control.
Business Requirements Analysis:
- Translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable technical specifications for reporting, regulatory compliance, and risk management purposes.
Testing and Validation:
- Support testing efforts to ensure data lineage accuracy and alignment with documented business requirements. Participate in validation of data pipelines and transformations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role within financial services or investment banking.
- Strong knowledge of data management, governance, and lineage methodologies.
- Familiarity with banking systems and financial products is highly desirable.
- Experience with data modeling, mapping tools, and data integration technologies.
- Proficient in SQL for data analysis and extraction.
- Understanding of data governance frameworks and regulations (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR, MiFID II).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across business and technical teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with data lineage tools such as Alation, Collibra, or Informatica.
- Knowledge of data transformation processes and ETL pipelines.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with evolving priorities.
Salary : $80 - $100
