The Financial Services Firm is seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to oversee underwriting operations for fix & flip, DSCR, and bridge loans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage underwriting teams, including the India team, to ensure efficient and effective risk assessment.
- Develop and maintain standardized underwriting procedures for consistency and efficiency.
- Assess credit risk while balancing business needs and investor requirements using AI and automation tools.
- Collaborate with Sales, Processing, and Capital Markets to align underwriting with investor buy-boxes.
- Leverage data and analytics to track trends and improve risk assessment.
- Set clear escalation guidelines to reduce bottlenecks and maintain strong risk oversight.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience underwriting fix & flip, DSCR, and bridge loans.
- Strong data and tech skills, comfortable with LOS systems, AI underwriting tools, and reporting dashboards.
- Process-driven mindset, able to develop and enforce standardized underwriting procedures.
- Excellent decision-making ability, able to assess risk without over-conditioning deals.
- Leadership and training experience, can scale and mentor an underwriting team.
- Cross-functional collaboration skills, works closely with Sales, Processing, and Capital Markets.
- Ability to scale underwriting operations and ensure efficient knowledge transfer.
