JOB TITLE: Program Manager, Aerospace
DEPARTMENT: Program Management
REPORTING TO: Chief Operating Officer
SUMMARY: The Program Manager (PM) is responsible for driving the development of PiAC technology for potential integration into key government and PiAC product lines. This role involves managing advanced research initiatives, overseeing technical execution, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual requirements. The PM will collaborate with executive management and direct project teams to achieve program goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead design and analysis efforts to select the best technical approach, reduce risk, and ensure customer requirements are met.
- Plan and assign project tasks, resources, and coordinate with project engineers for simulation models, scaled demonstrators, and FVL modeling efforts.
- Review sub-task engineering and vendor analyses, develop experimental and test plans, and provide process and developmental design solutions.
- Lead customer and subcontractor meetings, reviews, and presentations, ensuring clear communication and progress updates.
- Approve and sign all project-related Engineering Reports (ERs), Design Modification Requests (DMRs), and Design Change Notices (DCNs).
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, including financial reports, technical reports, and final project documentation.
- Maintain regular communication with the Chief Engineer and customer points of contact on project progress, schedules, financials, and technical results.
- Report project bottlenecks, resource gaps, and impediments to management daily.
- Authorize work, verify personnel time charges, and approve purchase orders up to $50,000.
- Develop and maintain a resourced Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) with the Project Scheduler and sub-task engineers.
- Manage customer relationships to ensure high project visibility and continued investment.
- Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure high-quality project execution, including managing vendors and external human resources.
- Use verification techniques to manage project changes in scope, schedule, and costs, while measuring performance using appropriate tools.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks and escalate issues to management as necessary.
- Seek and maintain relationships with high-quality vendors and suppliers.
- Develop product maturity and technology insertion roadmaps aligned with strategic plans.
- Ensure technical expertise through regular reviews, engaging enterprise-wide knowledge when needed.
- Lead weekly and daily project meetings to track progress and adjust plans, communicating updates to both internal teams and customers.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget by coordinating tasks, resolving issues, and monitoring progress.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Eight (8) years of progressive experience in administration/program management.
- Must have an Aerospace Engineering background.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related discipline.
- Must have the ability to obtain/maintain an active security clearance.
