Project Scheduler

JOB TITLE: Project Scheduler, Aerospace

Founded in 1955, Piasecki Aircraft Corporation (PiAC) is a research and development business specializing in design, fabrication and flight testing of experimental rotorcraft and unmanned air vehicles. Piasecki has developed and flown more than 25 different advanced VTOL and UAV aircraft and continues to develop cutting-edge vertical flight technologies.

Summary

The Piasecki Aircraft Corporation Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving detailed project schedules for engineering design changes, production planning, and field support activities. The role involves working closely with cross-functional project teams to create, refine, and update Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. This position requires effective communication with Program Managers, Engineers, and Finance to drive project success and support business operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules using project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Primavera.
• Create standard project plans including tasks, durations, resource requirements, and dependencies for engineering design changes and field issues.
• Conduct Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) workshops to outline project deliverables and ensure alignment with program goals.
• Monitor and report on critical path and key milestones, providing insights and recommendations to support project decision-making.
• Perform schedule risk assessments, identify potential delays, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure schedule alignment and effective communication of project progress.
• Generate and present schedule-related reports and metrics to project stakeholders, including project managers and senior leadership.
• Develop and maintain complex Excel job aids to support stakeholder business processes and meet schedule control requirements.
• Support program audit preparations by ensuring data integrity and adherence to Project Schedule Management Standards.
  
  

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Strong understanding of project management principles and practices, particularly in the aerospace or defense industry.
• Proficiency in using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Smartsheet.
• Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM) and schedule analysis using tools like Acumen.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with Agile Program Planning, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  
  

Education / Certifications / Clearances

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in program planning and scheduling within the aerospace or defense industry.
• PMP, CAPM, or other project management certifications are preferred.
• U.S. Person status is required to meet export control compliance.
