Piasecki has developed and flown more than 25 different advanced VTOL and UAV aircraft and continues to develop cutting-edge vertical flight technologies.
SUMMARY:
The Piasecki Aircraft Corporation Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) and supporting manufacturing processes. Conduct process audits, maintain QMS documentation, manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and analyze data to provide actionable insights into the health and performance of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct audits of QMS processes and manufacturing activities to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other aerospace industry standards.
- Develop, update, and maintain QMS documentation, including policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Gather, analyze, and report on data to evaluate the health and status of the QMS and manufacturing processes, while ensuring clear communication to stakeholders at all levels.
- Lead CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) and RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action) processes.
- Present data-driven insights and recommendations to audiences, including executive leadership, through compelling presentations and reports.
- Assist in developing and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively with minimal supervision.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards; Lead Auditor Certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and composites.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone Diagrams, and Five Why Analysis).
- Experience with quality tools such as Minitab, Tableau, or Power BI for data analysis and visualization.
- Experience with QMS software (e.g., MasterControl, ETQ).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for advanced data analysis.
- Experience with FAA or EASA regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in advanced statistical analysis or programming tools (e.g., Python, R).
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / CLEARANCES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in quality management or manufacturing within the aerospace or related industry.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.
