What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Director position at Piatt County Nursing Home?
Piatt County Nursing Home, a 100-bed skilled nursing facility in Monticello, is currently seeking a experienced Certified Dietary Manager to provide quality, nutritious meals to our residents.
The Dietary Manager reports directly to the Executive Director of Piatt County Nursing Home. The successful candidate must be innovative and independent, be able to plan menus, cater to residents, build a dream dietary department without worrying about budget constraints. The candidate would have the full authority to structure their department to ensure that each meal and snack presented to the residents and staff is the best it can be. Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Dietician to plan, develop and implement , delicious, nutritional meal plans
- Evaluate and direct the Dietary Department
- Follow all Federal, State and Local standards, guidelines and regulations as well as Piatt County Nursing Home policies
- No discussion of PPD but be a good steward of the resident's money by being proactive with price comparisons is expected.
- Participate in care plan meetings
- Ensure that all Dietary personnel are aware of the care plan and that care plans are used in planning daily food services for the resident
- Interview residents or family members, as necessary, to obtain diet history
- Maintain records of the resident’s food likes and dislikes
- Review therapeutic and regular diet plans and menus to ensure they are in compliance with the physician’s orders
- Complete all assessments and charting of progress notes
- Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Department
- Ensure that stock levels of staple and non-staple food, supplies, equipment, etc., are maintained at adequate levels
- Place supply orders as needed
- Ensure that dietary service work area, food storage area, and food preparation areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner to meet Federal, State and Local guidelines and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualification/Experience:
- Minimum 3 year of previous kitchen management experience
- Prior experience in a kitchen setting cooking
- Food sanitation certification
- Certified Dietary Manager Certification
