What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resort Barista position at Piaule Catskill?
Position Summary:
The Resort Barista is responsible for supplying our guests with expertly crafted espresso drinks as
well as mocktails, juices, teas, beer and wine. They will assist the Resort Breakfast and Lunch
Attendant with continental breakfast service, food running and customer service.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Greet guests as they walk up to the kitchen or bar counters
- Receive or take orders for morning beverages and craft them for our guests
- Assist with assembling batched mocktails, cocktails, pouring beer or wine and delivering them to
guests
- Attend to the beverage station replenishing coffee & tea in the morning and infused water/tea in
the afternoon
- Be able to properly describe our wines, beers, and other drinks to guests
- Work with Toast to enter orders, charge cabins or credit cards and reconcile tips.
- Inform management of low stock or wasted product
- Maintain a presence at the barista bar to be attentive to our guests
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times
- Assist with setting up and breaking down the dining room to house standards
- Perform shift end duties such as spot cleaning, polishing, folding napkins, etc.
- Maintain effective communication with Floor Captain and other department leaders
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the property, amenities and Piaule as a brand
- Perform any and all duties as required as Piaule develops and changes over time.
- Be accommodating of a schedule that will consist of morning, afternoon, weekend and/or holiday
shifts
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year barista or customer service F&B experience
- Must be fluent in English with strong verbal and written skills
- Ability to work positively and professionally in a high-end establishment
- Knowledge of service industry and food and beverage environment
- History of effective collaboration and communication in working with managers, bartenders, and
culinary staff
- Punctuality, reliability and professionalism in all aspects of the role
Working Conditions:
- Be able to spend long periods of time standing
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs
- Working with hot liquids and a hot espresso machine
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends
- Must accommodate schedule changes due to special events or holidays
- Must be willing to working indoors and outdoors depending on season
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
