Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Auxiliary Operator will play a critical role in the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant. This role requires prior experience with GE 7FA or LM6000 turbine technology, strong teamwork, and effective communication skills.

- 5 years of hands-on experience in combined cycle power plant operations or equivalent military experience.
- Strong working knowledge of GE 7FA or LM6000 combustion turbines and associated systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & control (I&C) systems in a combined cycle environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Operations of a combined cycle power plant to include starting up and shutting down plant equipment from the control room.
- Monitoring and operating plant equipment and responding to plant upset events and emergencies.
- Recording all necessary equipment and instrumentation readings and data.
- Manually and remotely operating valves and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and correcting electrical maintenance problems, including switch gear, motors, breakers, and plant wiring.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and replacing sophisticated Instrumentation and Controls equipment and components.
- Troubleshoot and correct mechanical problems which include combustion turbines, steam turbines, pumps, compressors, valves, and various rotating equipment.
- Provides coverage, when necessary, to fellow Plant Operators on other shifts.
- Performs inspections, water analysis and troubleshooting, to optimize plant performance.
- Promotes and works with others in a team environment
- Coordinates plant production in accordance with contracts and owners’ representatives.
- Must complete required operations/maintenance training and qualification programs.
- Ability to handle constantly changing and emerging work priorities and schedules.
- Proven experience operating and maintaining combustion turbine generating stations and balance-of-plant systems.
- In-depth knowledge of power plant operations including mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical systems required
- Possess knowledge of all facets of power plant operations to include systems functionality, maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, procedures, and policies related to plant operations and safety practices
- Knowledge and understanding of equipment isolation and tagging procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 75 pounds, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, etc.
- Work may be performed around rotating equipment and highly energized and/or pressurized systems.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5 years of hands-on experience in combined cycle power plant operations
- Experience with GE 7FA combustion turbines preferred, LM6000 experience also acceptable.
- Understanding MARK VI control systems preferred.
