The Senior Project Manager will oversee engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) execution, ensuring compliance with budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee full project lifecycle, including feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Develop and execute project plans, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives are met.
- Manage EPC contracts, subcontractors, and procurement, ensuring successful execution and milestone completion.
- Provide technical oversight of boilers (Babcock & Wilcox), steam turbines (GE), cooling towers, balance-of-plant (BOP) modifications, fuel supply systems, and emissions control equipment.
- Lead budget control and risk management, implementing earned value management (EVM) and financial tracking.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, ASME, IEEE, API, and EPA regulations, managing permitting and environmental requirements.
- Act as primary liaison between clients, EPC firms, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders.
- Oversee commissioning, testing, and final turnover, ensuring performance, emissions, and efficiency targets are met.
- Strong understanding of EPC project execution, construction sequencing, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Experience managing high-value contracts, ensuring cost control, schedule adherence, and financial risk mitigation.
- Expertise in power plant conversions, steam cycle modifications, balance-of-plant (BOP) upgrades, and emissions control retrofits.
- Deep knowledge of steam boilers, gas turbine systems, cooling systems, high-voltage electrical systems, and fuel supply infrastructure.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and regulatory compliance personnel.
- Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, BIM 360, and Procore.
- Ability to interface with executive leadership, regulatory bodies, and engineering teams to drive project success.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills to manage change orders, contractor claims, and scope modifications.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods and perform computer work daily.
- Ability to walk job sites and ascend/descend ladders/stairs as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field) preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration (preferred).
- PMP certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) License (preferred).
- 15 years of experience in EPC project management for large-scale power generation projects.
- OSHA-30 certification preferred.
