Key Project Requirements
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient start up, operation, shutdown, and maintenance of the GE LM6000 combustion turbines and all associated support equipment depending on the assignment. The Shift Supervisor is also responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis inside the Control Room as well as maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and de-energized electrical equipment outside of the Control Room. The Shift Supervisor reports to the Assistant Plant Manager.

Key Project Requirements
- 3 years of experience operating and maintaining GE LM6000 gas turbines in a power generation facility.
- Proven ability to supervise shift operations, including start-up/shutdown, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance.
- Strong working knowledge of control room operations, P&IDs, CMMS systems, and plant safety protocols.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, respond to emergency conditions, and lead personnel in a safety-first environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate combustion turbine generators and balance of plant equipment in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.
- Oversee plant operations, including start-up, shutdown, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of mechanical and de-energized electrical systems.
- Direct daily activities of operations and maintenance staff under the guidance of the Assistant Plant Manager.
- Monitor plant systems via the control room, evaluate system conditions, and maintain operational logs and reports.
- Support maintenance during outage periods; provide updates on progress as needed.
- Read and interpret P&IDs, technical manuals, and operating procedures to ensure equipment is operated and maintained properly.
- Utilize CMMS to track maintenance activities; support and participate in preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory procedures, including hazardous materials handling and spill prevention.
- Maintain current training and certifications (e.g., First Aid, CPR, OSHA).
- Perform lockout/tagout procedures, oversee key and lock systems, and conduct periodic audits for compliance.
- Support and lead safety initiatives, including safety training, inspections, and documentation.
- Manage control room and equipment inventories; ensure cleanliness and organization of control room and logs.
- Oversee water treatment systems and chemical inventory, including routine testing and documentation.
- Maintain facility technical documentation, blueprints, SDS files, and environmental monitoring records.
- Support plant event logging, incident response, and emergency planning documentation.
- Train and mentor new employees; support their qualification process.
- Extensive knowledge in piping and instrument schematics and process controls.
- Extensive working knowledge of the power plant industry.
- Must have extensive knowledge in CMMS, Control Room Operations, Gas Turbines, O&M procedures, and power plant fundamentals.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must be a team player and work well as a member of the group.
- Must be able to work shift hours, overtime, or irregular hours as needed to support reliable operation of the facility
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Working in varied outdoor environments such as all-weather conditions, all noise levels, hazardous conditions, and on the full range of outdoor work surfaces.
- The frequent use of protective equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.) may be required. Work with hazardous materials may also be required.
- Working in proximity to high voltages and current with proper training and equipment, operating heavy equipment and rolling stock and entering confined spaces or hazardous environments may be required while often being exposed to equipment and machinery noises.
- Duties require walking, standing for extended periods of time, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, operation of large valves and other tasks requiring up to 100 lbs. of pulling or turning force, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Exposure to extreme heat and cold.
- Eye and hand coordination are required to operate switches, pushbuttons, and other controls.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
- Experience as a Shift Supervisor or equivalent position in an operating or generating plant.
- Minimum of three (3) years LM6000 experience preferred.
- Experience in maintenance and/or operations.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of gas turbine operations.
