Carpenter and Carpenter Helper

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Be able to perform all duties of a carpenter or finish carpenter, following the recognized procedures and techniques
• Be able to use a circular saw, chop saw, table saw, hand planer, router, nail guns, impact drill
• Ability to patch and repair existing architectural components (doors, windows, etc.)
• Ability to complete different types of joinery
• Advanced installation skills (cabinets, curved millwork, stairs)
• Take and communicate accurate field measurements and determine necessary blocking for component

COMPETENCIES:

• Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, or building plans
• Must be able and willing to follow all safety rules and regulations
• Must present him or herself in a professional manner
• Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes of the carpentry industry including trim carpentry and cabinetmaking.
• Must be able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Must be willing to assist others and perform additional job duties

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years of Carpentry Experience
• 1 year of Carpentry Experience (for Carpenter Helper)

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to pass drug test

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands of this position must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, and crouch for an extended period of time. The employee frequently is required to use hands to fingers, handle, or feel: and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must be able lift and/or move equipment up to 100lbs. Some duties in this position are performed under periodically disagreeable working conditions of a jobsite including working outside, at times in inclement weather; and exposure to water, dust, dirt, grease, paint fumes, chemicals, and equipment noise and vibration. Must be able to work from hieights - either from a ladder of man lift.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
