JOB SUMMARY
The Retail Budtender assists customers by providing product recommendations and sharing cannabis knowledge. Responsibilities include maintaining a photo-ready, professional dress code; keeping their workstation tidy; staying current with cannabis information; and properly organizing products. They collaborate with all departments and personnel to ensure customer efficiency. When interacting with customers, they help diffuse issues, communicate complaints to upper management, build customer rapport, and collect feedback. Additionally, they assist in opening and closing the store, stocking shelves, and ensuring the store is always clean and presentable for guests. Financial duties involve counting money in the register drawers, efficiently ringing up customers, and checking receipts for financial accuracy. Retail Budtenders must comply with company and safety policies, adhere to compliance regulations, and complete all tasks appropriately
Essential Duties:
- Assist customers by retrieving requested products and advising them on products and services.
- Provide exceptional customer service skills and build customer rapport.
- Re-home "put backs" accumulated at each Budtender station.
- Execute cleaning and sanitation checklists.
- Assist Retail Supervisors in the general upkeep of the retail and guest spaces.
- Maintain and upkeep cannabis product displays, retail merchandise cases, and vendor-sponsored displays.
- Collaborate with Inventory and Retail staff to maintain policies, procedures, and regulatory activities.
- Provide exceptional customer service experience for customers.
- Maintain an elevated knowledge of cannabis products, brand standards, and compliance.
- Stay updated with communications and knowledge shared on Slack.
- Ensure business goals, operational deadlines, and performance standards are met.
- Manage traffic flow, minimize wait times, and maximize customer sales and satisfaction.
- Maintain the organization of sales stations and the dispensary through daily upkeep.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma / GED
- Valid State issued Driver’s License
- A Passport quality photo
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must successfully pass a background check
- Must successfully pass a drug test for all non-cannabis substances
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) applicants are strongly preferred
- Prior cannabis knowledge, education, or certification in the cannabis industry
- Knowledge of customer marijuana policies, law, compliance, and regulations
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
- Basic math skills

PRCI Tribal Preference:
In accordance with applicable Tribal Law and Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the PRCI Administration shall give preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and lay-off to enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians. To qualify for this preference, applicants must meet minimum qualifications of employment and submit verification of enrollment in the Tribe. Tribal preference means that Tribal Members who are equally qualified as non-tribal members will be hired. In addition, on the Human Resources Interview rubric that allows for a total of 75 points during interviews, Tribal members will be awarded an additional 7.5 points (10% of total allotted points) counted in the overall tally. Tribal members who are not Chukchansi will receive Indian preference by awarding five additional points (6.7% of the total allotted points).
