**About the Role:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geology Project Coordinator to join our Natural Resources team at Pickering Firm, Inc.
This position involves supporting engineering and environmental projects by conducting site investigations, analyzing subsurface conditions, and providing geoscience expertise to ensure environmental compliance and support sustainable project development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting site investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling, site characterization, and subsurface analysis;
- Performing environmental site assessments (Phase I and Phase II ESA) to evaluate potential contamination risks;
- Monitoring and overseeing site remediation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards;
- Using GIS and geospatial tools to analyze and present environmental data;
- Creating high-quality maps, models, and visualizations to support engineering and environmental projects;
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, biologists, and cultural resource specialists, to integrate environmental considerations into project designs;
- Staying updated on federal, state, and local environmental regulations, ensuring all projects meet compliance standards;
- Supporting project planning and providing input on environmental risks and constraints;
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field;
- ~2 years of professional experience in geology or related fields, with a focus on GIS applications;
- ~ Proficiency in GIS, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software for environmental analysis and document preparation;
- ~ Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including NEPA, CERCLA, RCRA, and local environmental laws;
- ~ Experience in managing multiple projects and client relationships;
- Experience in project management and client interaction;
- Experience working with federal agencies such as the Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), U.Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), or Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
