We are looking for hardworking individuals to be housekeepers for our facility, Pickering Manor. These full-time and part-time shifts are for the day shift. Interested candidates must be willing to work every other weekend and holidays. Applicants must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds. Pickering Manor, Newtown’s premier center for senior living, was opened in 1963 thanks to the generosity of Mr. Henry Russell Pickering. He bequeathed his home and a sum of money for the creation of a retirement center to serve the older citizens of Newtown and vicinity.

Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing residential spaces.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs and ensuring satisfaction.
- Utilize floor care techniques to maintain cleanliness and appearance of various floor types.
- Utilize sanitation practices to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Utilize cooking skills to prepare meals if required.
- Draw on janitorial, laundry, and custodial experience to deliver high-quality housekeeping services.
- Apply knowledge from hotel and commercial cleaning experiences to meet industry standards.
- Manage housekeeping tasks efficiently, including carpet cleaning and overseeing cleaning operations.
Qualifications
- Core skills in cleaning, customer service, residential cleaning, floor care, and sanitation
- Premium skill in cooking
- Relevant experience in janitorial, laundry, custodial, hotel, carpet cleaning, housekeeping management, and commercial cleaning
This job requires a strong foundation in cleaning practices, customer service, and residential maintenance. Experience in janitorial, hotel, or commercial cleaning is beneficial. Additionally, proficiency in cooking and knowledge of sanitation protocols are valuable assets for this role.
