What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pickers Texarkana - Yard Technician position at PICKERS 1 LLC?
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS
- Handle general labor activities on the salvage and recycling yard, including the processing, dismantling, setting, and recycling of automobiles
- Work Schedule Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM
- Defluid salvage vehicles
- Recover Catalytic Converters
- Recover Batteries and charge to prepare for sale.
- Maintain auto defluiding building in a clean, organized manner.
- Responsible for care and control of auto defluiding tools and equipment.
- Coordinate and work with the Yard Lead on setting and pulling cars from the yard.
- Dependable/reliable and committed to working required hours, including occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Work in a safe manner, in accordance with all safety training, policies and practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic mechanical knowledge and general working knowledge of automotive parts
- Experience with basic power tools, forklift operation, and heavy equipment preferred
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and follow standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, lift 50lbs, and stretch as required by a specific task
- Must have reliable means of transportation to work
PHYSICAL ASPECTS:
- Stands, walk, use hands, reaches, talk and hear frequently.
- Lifts to 50 lbs.
- Requires close vision at 20 inches or less.
- Requires distant vision at 20 feet or more.
- Requires the ability to distinguish colors.
- Requires good peripheral vision.
- Must be able to walk comfortably up to 3 miles daily.
- Required to push/pull and climb ladders greater than 20ft.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Will occasionally be exposed to:
- Work near moving mechanical parts regularly over 5%.
- Work in office environment 95%
- Work in outdoor manufacturing environment 5%
