Job Title: Carrier Sales Representative
Job summary: The primary duty of the Carrier Sales Representative is to develop relationships with prospective carriers to generate repeat sales and maximize Pickett Logistics margins.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Generate new carrier base via load boards, networking, and cold calling
- Negotiate contract and spot market lanes with carriers
- Communicate shipment specific details directly to carrier and driver via various methods
- Work closely with ops team to ensure that customer expectations and delivery requirements are met
Skills Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:

- Ability to function independently in a high volume, high stress environment
- Aggressive, hunter mentality with a driven, goal-oriented personality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to multi-task with phones, computer, and e-mail
Required Hours of the Job: Varies, but average work day is 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Afterhours and/or weekends may be required to meet customer’s needs.
Preferences:
1-year transportation and logistics experience
Report-to for the Job: The Carrier Sales Representative position will report directly to the team’s Logistics Manager and Agency owner.
