Pickford Escrow, one of the largest full-service escrow companies in California, is looking for an Escrow Officer Floater (on site) to join our team in San Diego to help drive our thriving escrow business. Purpose of Job

The Escrow Officer Floater fills in for other Officers and Managers while out, working on the absent officer's desk. This position may at times be a lead or management position or may work in a subordinate role.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to any customer inquiries in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
  • Review contracts and prepare escrow instructions. Monitor the transaction, reviewing for completeness and compliance and ensuring all necessary information and documentation has been ordered and is accurate, i.e. payoff, HOA disclosures. Abstract documents, title reports, loan documentation, and other pertinent information and review for completeness and compliance.
  • Facilitate closings, ensuring all documents and funds required to complete sales and loan transactions are properly prepared and executed.
  • Conduct the closing including explanation of all related documents and closing costs.
  • Ensure that title issues are resolved prior to closing.
  • Prepare and submit closed loan package, deposits and disbursement documentation, recording package, and / or commission package to appropriate department or entities.
  • Prepare Settlement Statements and other required miscellaneous documents.
  • Support the policies and procedures of the Officer or Manager whose desk you're covering.

Perform any additional escrow-related responsibilities as requested or assigned.

  • Support company established procedures for confidentiality, security of sensitive information and "clean desk" procedures
  • Follow the company HR Policy, the Code of Business Conduct and all subsidiary and department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company information, attending work punctually and regularly, and following good safety practices in all activities.
  • Qualifications

    Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience :

  • A minimum of two years' experience as an Escrow Officer.
  • Knowledge and Skills :

  • Strong computer skills.
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently under deadline pressure, with ability to occasionally work extra hours during peak times of the month.
  • High degree of integrity, self-motivated, organized, detail oriented, and possesses a strong aptitude for figures.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different work environments and procedures in different office locations
  • Other (licenses, certifications, schedule flexibility / OT, travel, etc.) :

  • Position will require approval from the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) and EAFC (Escrow Agents Fidelity Corporation).
  • Must possess and maintain valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle and ability to travel daily through assigned territory on a scheduled or unscheduled basis.
  • Notary Public preferred but not required
  • Wage : $37.00 - $40.00 hourly (or) annually; actual wage is based upon education and experience. Potential for formulary incentive plan / annual discretionary bonus, based on financial results.
