Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to lead our finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, capable of driving financial performance and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
Location: Moorpark, CA 93021
Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Monday- Friday
Start Date: March 2025
Salary: $120K - $140K depending on experience
Employee Type: Salaried, exempt, full-time, hybrid (3 days in office)

Responsibilities
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements and monthly cash flow reporting.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Administer company benefit programs including 401K, Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Workers' Compensation, AFLAC, and all other benefit programs.
- Manage Relationships for company insurance, CPA, and banking.
- Oversee payroll, HR reporting, and compliance.
- Oversee all company insurance reporting
- Oversee annual bank audit
- Analyze and provide financial statements ready for annual review.
- Accounting and Reporting:
- Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Prepare and file tax returns promptly and accurately in coordination with CPA.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls.
- Assess customer credit limits and provide leadership with receivables management.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals.
- Recruit, hire, and develop talent.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Operational Finance:
- Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce costs.
- Oversee cash flow management and treasury functions.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including fraud, operational, and compliance risks.
- Implement robust risk management procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CMA preferred).
- 10 years of relevant experience as a Controller in a consumer products company.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting software and systems (e.g., ERP, budgeting tools).
- Microsoft GP or Cavallo/Salespad experience preferred.
- Experience in ADP Workforce Now or similar HR and payroll software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced level proficiency in Excel.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a strong attention to accuracy.
