Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales and Business Development Representative to drive growth and expand Pico Propane and Fuels’ presence in the Texas border region, covering Laredo, Eagle Pass, and Del Rio. This role is primarily focused on securing and managing commercial propane and refined fuel accounts while identifying new business opportunities within the region.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a proven track record in B2B sales, business development, and account management, preferably within the energy or fuel industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase propane and refined fuel sales in the assigned territory.
- Identify, target, and establish relationships with commercial propane consumers, including:
- Warehouses & Distribution Centers
- Manufacturing & Industrial Facilities
- Agricultural / Ranching Operations
- Construction & Building Sites
- Hospitality & Food Service Businesses (hotels, restaurants, resorts)
- Fleet & Transportation Companies
- Government & Municipal Entities
- Prospect and secure new accounts while managing and growing relationships with existing customers.
- Educate potential clients on the benefits of propane and refined fuels as cost-effective and environmentally friendly energy solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery, service, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct site visits, product demonstrations, and consultations to assess customer needs and propose tailored fuel solutions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adjust strategies accordingly.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activity, pipeline development, and performance metrics.

Qualifications
Education, Certification & License Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management, preferably in propane, fuels, energy, or industrial sales.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean and insurable driving record.
Skills & Abilities:
- Willingness to travel locally within the designated region.
- Strong knowledge of commercial propane applications and fuel distribution is a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a territory with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Experience with Salesforce.com products is a plus).
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements:

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch
- Regularly and safely lifts, carries, and handles supplies and equipment weighing at least 20 - 80 pounds
- Must pass pre-employment screening and background check
- Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed
- Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases and airborne particles is common
