Floral Designer/Customer Service

Job Summary
Pied Piper Vermillion Flowers & Gifts is looking for just the right person to join us as a permanent team member. If you are an adult (18 or older) and are creative, have worked in a sales/retail environment, love to be around and talk with people, and have a valid drivers license, then please contact us by stopping in the shop at 2 E. Cherry St., Vermillion SD or call (605) 659-8022. Store hours are M-F 8 - 5:30 Sat 9 - 1. Pay negotiable based on experience.

Duties

• Design and create floral arrangements for various occasions. Onsite Training.
• Plant care. Onsite Training
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers in selecting flowers and arrangements that suit their needs as well as gift sales in person and phone sales
• Handle cash transactions accurately using a cash register or POS system.
• Delivery
• Communicate effectively with customers, providing information about floral care, plant care, arrangement options, and gift sales
• Merchandising and assist in the setup and decoration of events as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Legible, clear handwriting is desired - all cards are handwritten.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in floral design is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with clients.
• Cash handling experience is necessary; familiarity with cash registers or POS systems is a plus.
• Retail sales experience is preferred but not required.
• Understanding customer needs and preferences.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with customers and team members.
• Attention to detail and creativity in floral design are key attributes for success in this role.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
