10 Week Nurse Externship program starting on June 2nd, 2025 .
Interviews to be selected for theprogram will be done at Piedmont Athens on March 19th,2025
Areas included : Neuroscience, Medical Specialties- Med Surg, GenSurg-Trauma, Pulmonary & Nurse Residency Unit, Oncology
All participants will berequired to work 3 twelve hour shifts weekly for a minimum of 36hours. You will be allowed to take 1 full week off during the 10week program except for the first week. The first week will be yourorientation week. There will be opportunities for dayshift 7am-7pm& nightshift 7pm-7am determined by availability for thedepartment you are chosen to work in.

RESPONSIBLEFOR :
The Nurse Extern, under thesupervision of the Registered Nurse, provides direct patient careto patients from
birth through the lifecycle. This careincludes utilizing treatments, procedures and equipment appropriateto
the pre-licensure nurse in the clinical setting perhospitalpolicy.
Qualifications :
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED :
Currently enrolled inand progressing through an accredited nursing program andsuccessfully completed the
first Med / Surgrotation.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED :
None
MINIMUMLICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BYLAW :
None
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS :
BLS certificationrequired
Certification from a Nursing Assistant or PatientCare Technician program preferred
Certification inphlebotomy preferred
Certification in ECG preferred
