**Nurse Externship Program Overview**
We are currently seeking motivated and compassionate individuals to participate in our 10-week Nurse Externship program at Piedmont Athens.
This intensive program provides hands-on experience in various medical specialties, including Neuroscience, Medical Specialties, General Surgery-Trauma, Pulmonary, and Oncology units.
Program Details:
- Duration: 10 weeks
- Shifts: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, with opportunities for dayshift (7am-7pm) and nightshift (7pm-7am)
- Orientations will be held during the first week of the program
- A minimum of 36 hours of work per week is required
- Taken one full week off during the 10-week program, except for the orientation week
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to patients from birth through the lifecycle
- Utilize treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to the pre-licensure nurse in the clinical setting per hospital policy
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program
- Completed the first Med/Surg rotation
- No prior experience is required
- BLS certification is mandatory
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician, phlebotomy, or ECG is preferred
