MedSurg Oncology (2 North) : The patient population includes oncology,gynecological oncology, bariatric services, medical disorders,womens services (including breast surgery), perinatal loss,post-partum readmissions and hospice patients transitioning to theend stage of life. Chemotherapy administration is an importantcomponent of the unit and is administered by chemotherapy certifiedRNs. Chemotherapy certification is required 8-12 months post hire.
RESPONSIBLEFOR :
The staff nurse provides nursing care topatients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursingprocesses to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care forpatients. He / she functions within the framework of the policies andprocedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growthand accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintainingstandards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of allassigned staff in the provision of quality nursingcare.
Qualifications :
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED :
Graduate of a nursingprogram
MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED :
New Graduates of a nursing programeligible
MINIMUMLICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW :
CurrentLicense in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC / eNLCMultistate License. BLS certification required.
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS :
Advanced certification in fieldof specialty, if applicable. Bachelor's degree preferred. NursingExperience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
