Description : RESPONSIBLE FOR :
Facilitating patient care by assisting thephysician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple
specialties, performing technical and some patient careduties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Functions as a clinical specialist across numerousservice specialty lines. Assumes additional
responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties asnecessary and serves as a resource. Functions on
a moreglobal level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavorsrelated to the surgerydepartment.
Qualifications :
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED :
High School Diploma orGED.
Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPNprogram.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED :
Surgical Tech Certification and 3years of experience required. In lieu of Surgical Techcertification, 7
years of experience can be substitutedfor certification for a total requirement of 10 years Surgical Tech
experience.
MINIMUMLICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BYLAW :
Current GA LPN License ifapplicable.
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS :
Certification as a SurgicalTechnologist Required or Licensed as an LPN required.
