Piedmont Bushings & Insulators, LLC is a small privately owned manufacturing company located in Woodruff, SC. We manufacture electrical bushings, insulators and engineered products for low and medium voltage classes for the electrical industry. Our manufacturing processes have stood the test of time as we have serviced our marketplace in the same location for over 40 years.
We have an immediate need for a full-time mechanical engineer at our Woodruff, SC facility.
Role Description
PBI specializes in custom designing and manufacturing bushings, insulators, instrument/current transformers, and line sensors as well as other legacy products around electrical insulation for the grid. We combine extensive engineering expertise with proven in-house manufacturing processes to refurbish, redesign, or replace existing components. This position will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems, creating detailed product designs, and using CAD software to produce precise and functional designs.
Other day-to-day tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams, testing and analyzing mechanical systems, and ensuring that designs meet industry standards and customer requirements. This position reports to the Director of Engineering.
Qualifications
- Expert skills in Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
- Experience in Dielectric Product Design
- Expert in SolidWorks Experience programming CNC equipment
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- Previous experience in the electrical industry is a plus
- Working independently as well as a team member is critical
- Previous work references will be required.
Other Specifics
- Full time, on-site hours M-F 8am-4:30pm
