What are the responsibilities and job description for the HLA Laboratory Medical Technologist position at Piedmont Careers?
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performs high complexityhistocompatibility testing and related functions including moleculartyping, antibody monitoring, and flow cytometry that regularly require a professional level of knowledge to execute, interpret,and/oranalyze. Participates in on-call rotation.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
A bachelors degree inchemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratoryscience from an accredited college oruniversity.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Certification as a Medical LaboratoryScientist byASCP (orequivalent organization), or Histocompatibility Technologist byABHI, or within 18 months of employment.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires atheoretical or conceptual understanding of the techniques, methods, and instrumentationutilized in the modern clinicallaboratory. Ability to communicate in an effective manner and work effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
