Piedmont Child Care Center in Upperville, VA is a non-profit center serving up to 82 children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Established in 1984, we strive to provide high quality education and care to the children of our community.
Summer School Age Teacher
Full Time Teacher needed for School Age Summer Program, Monday-Friday, 9a-5p. Responsibilities include helping Co-Teacher carry out fun, age appropriate games, activities, projects, and field trips for a group of 20 children, ages 5-11. Must have experience in a child care setting, as well as knowledge of early childhood development. Must be reliable, patient, calm, and love working with children. Weekends/Holidays off. Responsibilities
- Meet children's daily physical, emotional, and social needs
- Treat all children with dignity and respect
- Maintain professional attitude, behavior, and dress at all times
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience as a Teacher/Caregiver in child care setting
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
- CDA preferred, but not required
