Description :
Administers aerosol therapy, chestphysical therapy and oximetry evaluations to non-critical
patients Performs Basic Life Support activities Teachesand demonstrates respiratory care
activities to patientsand their representatives cleans, assembles, sets up and maintainsequipment and
supplies. Perform non-invasive respiratorycare procedures as ordered under the supervision of a
licensed RespiratoryTherapist.
Qualifications :
MINIMUM EDUCATIONREQUIRED :
Currently enrolled in an AMA approvedrespiratory care program and completed one semester.
Active student status must be maintained and documented.Must submit letter of recommendation from
ProgramDirector for consideration of employment.
MINIMUMEXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Must have completed a studentrespiratory floor therapy rotation
MINIMUMLICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BYLAW :
None.
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS :
Current certification in BLS required.
Must be actively practicing and maintaining all requiredrespiratory care competencies.
ACLS required postcompletion of second semester of respiratory care program or within60 days of hire.
