Certification Details BLS - Basic Life Support Job Details Minimum Experience : 1 year; 1st Timers are accepted Patient Population : Adolescents to Geriatrics 6 East is a General Med Surg Unit with potential diagnoses; drips include heparin or argatroban; monitor chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, and drains of all kinds; Wound care staff available, but most dressing changes are completed independently; Bladder Scanner, EKG machine, iPad for TeleHealth consults, Vein Finder, IO gun (code situations), Wound Vacs, PCA, Hoyer Lift, Specialty Beds Ratio / Census : 1 : 6; 39 Bed unit with average daily census of 24 Unit Systems : Epic, Pyxis Scrub Color : Royal Blue RTO : MAX 7 days Weekends : Every other weekend (6 weekend days per 6-week-schedule) Floating : Yes, within facility and sister campus (Piedmont Columbus Northside) Call Requirements : None Holidays : If one major holiday falls in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
