The Accounting Associate will assist with various accounting tasks and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. They will assist with day-to-day operations with focus on accounts payable, the Controller and Accounting Manager with budgets and financial reporting.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential DutiesReview incoming invoices and billing statements and match with purchase orders daily.Prepares all local, in state, and out of state travel requests. Book airline tickets and rental cars. Prints travel, accounts payable, Financial Aid, Refunds and PCARDS checks Processes check packages and file in proper cabinet. Research and answer questions/concerns of vendors and departments concerning payments and purchase orders.Prepare Monthly Sales and Use Tax Report.Provide relief for switchboard operator as scheduled.Assist with month-end closingAssist with closing out all open orders at end of fiscal year.Assist entering budget and journal entries in Colleague and file. Assist with Grants and others for copies of checks as needed.Assist with preparation of 1099’s yearly.Assist with maintaining compliance with business office processes and proceduresMaintain fixed assets systemBackup for monthly payrollPerform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands This job requires continuously talking or hearing, frequently standing, frequently walking, frequently reaching with hands and arms, frequently gripping, or feeling with hands, typing/repetitive movement, occasionally climbing or balancing, occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, occasionally sitting.
