Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and responsible Youth Recreation Monitor to supervise children in our designated youth recreation areas, including the multipurpose room and outdoor grass enclosure. This individual will ensure the safety, cleanliness, and overall enjoyment of these areas. The Youth Recreation Monitor will be responsible for maintaining a fun and organized environment, overseeing youth offerings, facilitating structured games and activities, and engaging with children through play. This position is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic, creative, and enjoys working with children in a lively, fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and ensure the safety of children in the youth recreation areas (multipurpose room and outdoor grass enclosure).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the recreation areas, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly stored and well-kept.
- Engage with children by interacting in a fun and positive manner, fostering an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
- Lead and organize group activities, games, and recreational programs that are age-appropriate.
- Oversee and facilitate structured and unstructured play, ensuring children follow safety guidelines.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down activities, ensuring all recreation spaces are properly prepared for use.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding any feedback or issues.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach in managing activities, anticipating children's needs, and encouraging participation in all aspects of recreation.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 16 years or older
- Experience with children
- Enjoys interacting with children and offering a variety of activities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a private club
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to stand for a prolonged periods
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to stoop, kneel and sit on the floor at times
- Requires visual and auditory monitoring of children and the environment
- Able to consistently and effectively deal with higher levels of stress associated with working in close quarters
- May be exposed to high levels of humidity and temperature when working outside
- Able to work nights, weekends, and holiday hours as it aligns with club programming
