This 18-bed cardiac unitspecializes in the care of both cardiac and vascular patients. Thetypical patient population found in the CCU includes patients withdiagnosis such as chest pain, cardiac dysrhythmias, CHFexacerbation, hypertensive emergency, AAA repair, carotidendarterectomy and pulmonary embolism. Our unit is a hybrid unitand consists of acute, intermediate, and intensive level of carepatients. Our nursing staff consists of both tele and ICU nurses.The nurse to patient ratio is typically 1 : 4 when caring for non-ICUpatients and 1 : 2 (sometimes 1 : 3) when caring for ICU patients. OurICU nurses may experience a 1 : 1 patient ratio when handling thehigher acuity patients that are on devices such as CRRT, IABP, andImpella. Our nursing staff works closely with our cardiologists andvascular surgeons along with their teams to provide exceptionalpatient care. RESPONSIBLE FOR :
The staff nurse provides nursing care topatients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursingprocesses to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care forpatients. He / she functions within the framework of the policies andprocedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growthand accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintainingstandards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of allassigned staff in the provision of quality nursingcare.
Qualifications :
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED :
Graduate of a nursingprogram
MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED :
New Graduates of a nursing programeligible
MINIMUMLICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW :
CurrentLicense in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC / eNLCMultistate License.
BLS certification required.
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS :
For PRN positions : One year ofnursing experience in a hospital setting is required
Bachelors degree preferred
Advancedcertification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
