This 6-bed cardiacunit specializes in the care of observation status patients. Thetypical patient population found in the cardiac observation unitincludes patients with diagnoses such as chest pain, cardiacdysrhythmias, NSTEMIS, as well as the occasional overflow patientadmitted for dialysis, syncope, etc. Nurses working in this areamust be competent regarding rhythm recognition as well as cardiaccatheterization recovery, TR bands, etc. The nurse to patient ratiois 1 : 4. Our team shares a space with ARU and therefor works veryclosely with them and occasionally assists with their outpatientspreoperative care as well as recoveries. Qualifications :
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED :
Graduate of a nursingprogram
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
New Graduates of a nursing programeligible
MINIMUMLICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW :
Current License in the State ofGeorgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC / eNLC MultistateLicense.
BLS certificationrequired.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :
For PRN positions : One year ofnursing experience in a hospital setting isrequired
Bachelors degreepreferred
Advanced certification in field ofspecialty, if applicable (seeaddendum)
