Gardener

Under direct supervision, the Gardner performs unskilled to semi-skilled work in the proper maintenance of the community grounds and equipment used to maintain a manicured appearance. Works involves operating medium to light machinery and using hand tools to prune trees, mow and edge lawns, remove debris and maintain plantings.

This is a Part-Time position

Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (Flexible Hours)

Pay: $21.18

Work Duties

• According to assigned schedule performs various landscaping duties such as planting and mowing grass, planting and trimming hedges and shrubbery, pruning trees, trimming weeds, maintaining flower beds, raking leaves, mulching using tractors, power lawn mowers, string trimmers and various hand tools.
• Sprays insecticide or herbicides as needed.
• Applies fertilizer as needed.
• Makes regular inspections of assigned areas daily for cleanliness; remove limbs, rake leaves, debris, and litter, and other hazards including those created by environmental conditions ensuring that grounds are properly maintained.

Minimum Requirements
Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience/Training

• Prior experience in grounds keeping preferred.
