Piedmont Green Power, LLC (“PGP”) owns a 55MW biomass-fired generating facility located in Barnesville, Georgia, approximately 70 miles southeast of Atlanta. PGP commenced operations in 2013 and sells power to Georgia Power Company, through a long‐term offtake contract. PGP utilizes approximately 500,000 tons of woody biomass annually, consisting of urban wood waste, mill, and logging residues. As of December 2023, PGP became fully owned by Pacolet Milliken, LLC.

Job Overview:
Responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining industrial machinery and boiler systems within a 55MW biomass-fired facility. Optimizes production by adjusting controls, troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance checks, and adhering to safety regulations. Works rotating 12-hour shifts, overtime, and irregular hours outside the normal shift rotation as needed to support reliable facility operations, callouts, or planned maintenance outages.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operates, maintains, and repairs equipment, such as fluidized bubbling bed combustor, steam generators, steam turbines, electrical generators, air compressors, motors, pumps, compressors, electrical switchgear, loaders, ash and fuel handling systems, bulldozers, and small utility equipment.
- Records and monitors operational data, including temperature, pressure, fuel consumption, water levels, voltage, and generator performance.
- Uses prescribed plant operations procedures to adjust manual control or override automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating range.
- Operates the plant equipment in a safe manner using plant operations procedures as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
- Performs routine plant rounds and ensures accurate and up-to-date record keeping.
- Assists with scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance tasks for various equipment.
- Conducts water tests and treatments to maintain optimal operational conditions.
- Manages and performs ash-handling duties to maintain clean and efficient plant operations.
- Complies with company plant safety and regulatory procedures.
- Communicates both audibly and visually per safety protocols.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Specific Skills:
- Strong understanding of plant equipment, machinery, and control systems.
- Strong understanding of the relationship between pressure and temperature in boiler systems.
- Knowledge of safety standards, plant procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the plant.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently as required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure clear reporting and effective teamwork.
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience:
2 years of experience with industrial or commercial maintenance operations is required; high-pressure industrial boiler operations experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements
Possess close visual acuity and acuity to operate machinery. Have visual acuity to make general observations of facilities or structures. Have the ability to stand, walk, balance, crouch, kneel, stoop, climb, crawl, reach, grasp, finger, feel, talk, hear, pull, push, repetitive motion, and lift at least 80 lbs.
Working Conditions
Subject to activities in hot, cold, noisy, and dark environments both inside and outside; noise levels where one may need to shout to be heard, hazards such as moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working in high places, working in close quarters, vibration, fumes, odors, dusts, oil, gases, and wear a respirator.

Shift Schedule: Work schedule will be rotating 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays with overtime, and irregular hours outside the normal shift rotation as needed to support reliable facility operations, callouts, or planned maintenance outages. Shifts are typically 7:00am to 7:00pm and 7:00pm to 7:00am.
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 / hour
