Certification Details BLS - Basic Life Support ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support State License 1 Verification NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN / LVN, AP) Job Details Minimum Experience : 1 year; 1st Timers not accepted Patient Population : Adults to Geriatrics General Skills and Work Setting Requirements : Overflow IMCU; Arrhythmia management; Cardioversion, Cardiac CHF, Chest pain, Renal, Pulmonary (COPD, empysema, pulmonary edema) PE, DVT Cardiac Arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia) Surgical (cholecystectomy, appy's, chest tubes, biliary drains) Occasional vascular patients, Post Cardiac Cath, TR Bands, DKA. Occasional Ortho or CVA patient overflow- These patients are transferred as soon as possible to appropriate unit; TR Bands, EXP with cardiac drips and hemodynamic monitoring and care of pts post PCI is a must as well as EVERYTHING under the MEd / Surg umbrella, Basic arrhythmia knowledge, Cardiac Drip knowledge : amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone, heparin, argatroban, aggrastat, bumex and lasix Ratio / Census : 1 : 5-6; 32 beds Unit Systems : Epic (Preferred), Pyxis, SBAR Scrub Color : Navy Blue RTO : MAX 7 days Weekends : Every other weekend Floating : Yes, within the facility Call Requirements : Call is rare, response time is 2 hours. Travelers typically do not get Precedex, this is for core staff to manage Holidays : If one major holiday falls in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Job Requirements Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS State License verification (if applicable) - within 30 days prior to start date Annual Nursys (RN, LPN / LVN, AP) within 30 days prior to start date Background Check required within 30 days of start. Schedule Information Weekends : Every other weekend RTO : MAX 7 days Holidays : If one major holiday falls in his / her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it.
