Clinical Medical Assistant
Job Summary
The Clinical Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to the healthcare team. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Meets and greets patients, obtaining their medical history and other relevant information.
- Accurately documents patient medical and physical histories in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Records vital signs and performs non-complex office procedures such as EKG and spirometry.
- Aids physicians, extenders, and nursing staff during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Prepares and maintains examination and treatment areas, including inventory management.
- Coordinates telephone requests for prescription refills and notifies patients of test results.
- Practices Standard Precautions and complies with established risk management, HIPAA, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- One year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association may be required depending on the practice's needs.
