Job Summary:
Piedmont Metals is a leading provider in the metals industry, offering high-quality products and services to a diverse range of customers. We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Inside Sales Representative to join our team. This role requires strong product knowledge, ERP system experience, and an understanding of metal processes and products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Customer Relations
- Manage inbound and outbound sales calls, responding to customer inquiries promptly.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring excellent service.
- Occasionally meet with customers face-to-face to discuss their needs and solutions.
- Assist in account development and growth strategies.
- Order & Inventory Management
- Ensure customer orders are accurately processed in the ERP system with minimal assistance.
- Oversee purchase orders (POs), billing, and invoicing to ensure smooth transactions.
- Manage customer-specific inventory and coordinate material replenishment as needed.
- Order additional services when required to fulfill customer needs.
- Operational & Team Collaboration
- Communicate with the operations team to ensure order accuracy and timely fulfillment.
- Submit sales reports, forecasts, and updates on customer accounts.
- Handle confidential customer and company information with discretion.
- Assist colleagues and support team efforts whenever necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 1-3 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or account management (preferably in the metals industry).
- Strong understanding of metal products, processes, and market applications.
- Experience using an ERP system for order processing and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask efficiently.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
