GENERAL PURPOSE
The Division Warehouse Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure the proper receipt, storage, retrieval and delivery of all inventory that passes through the facility- keeping the warehouse secure, clean and well organized at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned and are subject to change at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
- Supervise and assist in daily warehouse activities including receiving and shipping areas. This includes filling and shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements, ensuring accuracy of inventory receipts and shipments including their supporting documentation.
- Ensure all product delivered to the warehouse is inspected for damage and is verified as to quantity ordered, noting any exceptions on the bill of lading and recording them on all receiving documents.
- Accurately place all inventory movement into the company’s inventory control system and forward all related documents (B/L and packing lists) as required.
- Organize and store all inventory in such a manner that it will be protected from damage and retrieved easily and accurately by assigning locations and marking accordingly.
- Supervise the truck drivers, ensuring all orders are delivered to the customer in good condition and in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
- Responsible for the accuracy of and proper routing of customer orders delivered, shipped or picked up. Arrange LTL shipments when necessary, ensuring maximum cost efficiency at all times.
- Ensure all company truck and forklift equipment are kept clean and properly maintained.
- Maintain the warehouse and grounds in a clean and orderly manner at all times, and using the warehouse staff during down time to ensure a well-ordered and safe environment. This includes the showroom and service/repair areas.
- Maintain the safety of all warehouse / driver personnel through appropriate ongoing training, monitoring, coaching, etc. Provide regular inspections of facilities from safety perspective, submitting monthly reports to Corporate Safety Leader and Division Manager. Seek immediate first aid care when needed via Safety Team assistance, secure environment to make safe, and notify incidents to HR Dept. Comply with OSHA and Workers’ Compensation directives. Under no circumstances should safety ever be compromised.
- Maintain security of facilities according to procedure, including daily closing checklists, monitoring dock gates, and warehouse doors are closed and locked before leaving for the day.
- Staff management includes supervising, training, planning and assigning daily work, ensuring optimal efficiency and minimal down time, conducting performance reviews and addressing performance issues, and resolving problems. Enforce the uniform policy and confirm all forklift certifications and driving licenses / MVR’s / DOT annual physical exams are current.

PERIPHERAL DUTIES Occasional truck driving delivery as needed. Serve as a member of various employee committees, and other duties as assigned.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent with at least 5 years relevant experience, with familiarity with similar packaging products preferred.
- Experience with using PC and applications, warehouse management systems, wireless forklift computer systems, and scanners preferred.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Be extremely detail oriented and strive for complete accuracy in all transactions.
- Operate a forklift safely and effectively.
- Have the ability to drive stick shift box truck approximately 26 feet long safely and effectively.
- Work independently and communicate respectfully and effectively.
- Perform heavy manual tasks under varying and some times uncomfortable environmental conditions including the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, employees, supervisors, other departments, and the public.
- Be computer literate with the ability to process information within the company’s inventory control system.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED?
Works under the general supervision of the General/Operations Manager for Division.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED?
Supervise, train and evaluate all drivers and warehouse personnel.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC CONTACT?
Daily contact with trucking companies and other vendors and customers requiring courtesy, discretion and sound judgment.
LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION?
Valid State Drivers’ License; Current Forklift Certification
TOOLS, EQUIPMENT USED / VEHICALS DRIVEN ?
Sit-down forklift, office computer/printer, telephone, and 26’ box trucks.
