PIEDMONT NATIONAL (PN) - a leading distributor of innovative packaging materials and technological solutions - is currently looking for the ideal candidate to join the Groveport, Ohio Fulfilment Team as a Driver / Material Handler
The global supply chain as it relates to manufacturing and distribution is constantly evolving and so is our business. Under general direction and supervision of the Warehouse Manager, this role can expect to work closely with others to :
- Pull, pack, crate, and load / unload products and equipment onto / off trucks and trailers
- Pick-up / Deliver full or partial loads of products and equipment from vendors / to customers
- Move products and equipment within the warehouse using forklift trucks and pallet jacks

Planning routes for economical use of time, fuel, and equipmentPerforming routine inspection of assigned vehicles and refer defects or repairs to supervisorMaintaining a clean truck, cab, and freight areas, as well as a neat and organized warehouseCounting and examining delivered inventory for receivingMonitoring and examining inventory for defective, returned, held, or damaged itemsPerforming other tasks as assigned by Warehouse ManagerPerforming all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standardsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for the role, the ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications :
Graduated from high school or have GED equivalent.2) years of relevant and verifiable driving and warehousing experienceClean MVR spanning a consecutive two yearsExperience with sit-down lift, zero turn stand-up lift, and powered / manual pallet jacks with an excellent safety recordAvailability from 6 : 00 AM to 6 : 00 PM Monday through FridayThe ideal candidate will also have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities :
Thorough knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving, and proven skills for safely operating various straight trucks, air brakes, and other necessary equipmentExperience with using a PC, smart phone, and printer / scanner / copy machine, as well as, with Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers and the publicAbility to work independently, communicate effectively (both verbal and written), and follow instructionsWillingness to troubleshoot issues, work through challenges, adapt to last minute changes to orders or schedules, and be flexible while maintaining a positive attitude.Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes in the roleAbility to follow instructions with ease but can also determine best way to accomplish something if no instructions are providedMaintain a high-energy, positive attitude while navigating unforeseen operational hurdles.Learn More
