Piedmont Newton Hospital seeks a skilled Surgical Tech First Assistant to join its team. As a critical member of the operating room staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Function as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures, adhering to credentials, privileges, experience, education, and competency verification.
- Assist OR staff in assigned rooms/cases, facilitating the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain a sterile field and anticipate/respond to the needs of the surgical team.
**Requirements:**
- Graduate from a surgical technologist program with completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon during the orientation period.
- Three years of perioperative services experience.
- Certified surgical technologist (CST) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA), Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA), Surgical Assistant, Certified (SA-C), or equivalent.
