The Piedmont Regional Education Program (PREP) seeks to hire a Program Specialist to support the effective operation of PREP and the Ivy Creek School with technology. The Ideal candidate has technology skills, takes initiative and is task oriented, patient, flexible and committed to assisting staff members and students.
Salary is commensurate with years of related experience; advanced degree supplements are available as determined by the PREP Joint Board of Control.
Primary Function:
The Program Specialist for Technology Support provides technical assistance and support for computer systems, hardware, software, and educational technology within the school. The Program Specialist for Technology Support also supports phone systems, copiers, and radios. This role ensures that all technology resources are effectively utilized to enhance teaching and learning.

Performance Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support for students, teachers, and staff regarding hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to computers, printers, peripherals, and network connectivity.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on computers and software applications.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and upgrading of technology equipment.
- Manage user accounts and access for students and staff on various platforms and systems.
- Maintain an inventory of technology equipment and supplies, including laptops and radios.
- Assist administration in the procurement of technology resources as needed.
- Collaborate with partnering school divisions when major repairs are needed or major technology issues arise.
- Support the daily breakfast and lunch operation of the Ivy Creek School.
- Provide support for the front desk (phones and door) when needed.
- Perform other duties deemed necessary by the Ivy Creek Administrator.
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated on the ability and effectiveness in carrying out the above responsibilities via the Support Staff Evaluation System.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, mobile devices, and software applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrates basic reading, writing and computation skills
- Has previous experience working in a school setting
- Has good physical and emotional health
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds, walk an average of one mile per day, climb flights of stairs as needed, and transition from standing to the floor and back during service provision; and
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree preferred
- Three or more years of experience in a public-school setting

Pay: $30,000.00 - $51,530.00 per year
