What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Counseling Enriched Classroom (CEC) Educational Therapist (1.0 FTE) for 2024-25 position at Piedmont Unified School District?
COUNSELING ENRICHED CLASSROOM EDUCATIONAL THERAPIST
DUTIES:
1. Facilitate crisis response; proactive individual, group, and family educationally-related mental health counseling; and community referrals for a caseload of eligible students
2. Develop and implement mental health-related IEP goals.
3. Collaborate with IEP team and community professionals on goals and interventions.
4. Deliver services at home, at school, and/or within the community using interventions based on the student’s abilities, interests, and strengths to assist students in accessing their educational goals.
5. Teach skills and replacement behaviors to develop alternative behaviors that are more adaptive and appropriate, such as developing communication skills, identifying triggers, mindfulness, and learning self-regulation skills.
6. Meet with caregivers and school teams to transfer skills, focus on sustaining progress, and help maintain the student’s and family system’s long-term success. Interventions may include creating structure and consistency in expectations across environments, developing positive reinforcement systems, and creating proactive contracts.
7. Participate in IEP meetings and work with the IEP team on related goals.
8. Support the successful transition of students from and to a more restrictive setting.
9. Other responsibilities as determined by supervisor.
Salary : $370 - $601
