Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient intake processes and ensuring a smooth transition for patients entering our healthcare system. This position requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of behavioral health and Medicaid terminology, and proficiency in relevant software systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage the intake process for new patients, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and processed efficiently.
- Utilize Lauris software and physical client charts to maintain accurate patient records and scheduling.
- Communicate effectively with patients to gather health information, including medical history and current health concerns.
- Apply ICD-10 coding for accurate billing and insurance claims processing.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and information flow.
- Maintain knowledge of behavioral health terminology and health information management practices.
- Communicate effectively with team regarding assessments, denials, start dates and authorization renewals.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
- Assist in the training of new staff members on office procedures and systems.
Experience
- Previous experience in a behavioral health is preferred.
- Familiarity with Lauris or similar practice management software is a plus.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and medical scheduling processes is essential.
- Strong understanding of health information management principles.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members.
