Position Purpose: Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) seeks a mission driven individual to provide administrative support to the Financial Aid Office, servicing students, their families, the community, and colleagues with the goal of supporting student success and completion.
The Financial Aid Assistant greets and is the first point of contact for everyone who enters the Financial Aid Office. They will provide accurate information on routine financial aid questions. Manage high volume of student and family interactions in-person, by phone, and email. Maintain financial aid forms, records, and webpages. Be well organized, detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work is typically performed in an office environment with extended periods working at a desk reviewing student files and computer use. Peak periods will include significant walk-in, phone, and email interactions and communications. Some extended hours and weekends are required.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Greeting and assisting students, families, colleagues, and community members in person, by phone, and text.
- Assist with FAFSA/VASA application completion, and other financial aid forms.
- Provide general financial aid information required by federal, state, and institutional aid programs.
- Ensuring clarity and accuracy in financial aid materials, both digital and print.
- Respond to requests for financial aid information via phone, email, text, and in-person timely and accurately.
- Student outreach to complete delinquent documentation.
- Manage records, collect, and track financial aid related documentation.
- Works with marketing to ensure branding policies are met and process releases for upcoming financial aid events.
- Using latest trends to stimulate customers’ comprehension – videos, tutorials, etc.
- Provides financial aid presentations and workshops as needed.
- Participate in trainings and professional organizations to keep abreast of new information and program changes.
- Work both independently and as a team.
- Attend Super Saturday events, Admissions Nights and a variety of campus and department events.
- Daily administrative tasks, purchase supplies, maintain bulletin board and office décor.
- Support workflow efficiency and communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
