- Teach microbiology and general biology courses using a student-centered approach, including lectures and laboratory sessions.
- Develop and update curriculum, ensuring alignment with current scientific research and best practices in biological sciences.
- Utilize various instructional methods, including technology-enhanced learning, to accommodate diverse student needs.
- Assess student learning outcomes and provide timely feedback to promote student success.
- Maintain office hours and advise students regarding academic and career pathways.
- Engage in professional development and stay current in the field of microbiology and general biology.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in microbiology or general biology with at least 18 graduate semester hours in microbiology.
- Minimum of two years of occupational experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- A doctorate in microbiology, general biology, or a closely related field.
- Experience with online or hybrid teaching formats.
- Experience teaching in higher education, especially within a community college
- Experience advising and mentoring students
- Familiarity with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Ability to integrate active learning strategies and hands-on laboratory experiences into instruction.
- Experience working with a diverse student population
