Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia -principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Position Title: Test Proctor
Department: Student Affairs/Testing Center
Employment type: Part-time wage
Purpose: Test Proctors in the PVCC Testing Center and Professional Testing and Certification Center (PTCC} maintain confidentiality and security of all test materials and remain vigilant to the prevention of academic dishonesty. Exhibit excellent customer service skills, working with both students and faculty. Assist students with special accommodations. Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude even under stressful conditions.

- Foster a warm and welcoming but also watchful environment to deter students from academic dishonesty.
- Communicate with faculty and staff to ensure optimum testing conditions.
- Maintain integrity of testing information.
- Administer a variety of tests: online and paper tests for PVCC and non-PVCC students, credit-by-exams, and placement tests.
- Follow Testing Center Guidelines.
- Open or close the centers depending on the schedule.
- Answer phone calls, manage and maintain emails, and organize incoming material.
- Attend training sessions as needed.
- Crosstrain in the Testing Center and PTCC.
