Overview

South Florida’s beacon of hospitality, Pier Sixty-Six Resort, is returning to Fort Lauderdale with an opening date of late 2024. From the famed superyacht marina to the iconic spires of the rotating Pier-Top lounge, a new world of elevated experiences is set to unfold around it. The lush 32-acre waterfront enclave will be home to the extraordinary luxury resort hosting 325 guest rooms, suites, and villas, plus an exclusive collection of 91 Private Resort Residences, 12 restaurants and lounges, a luxurious spa, curated pool options, and a waterfront promenade with retail and dining. Every space is impeccably designed to both inspire and relax. All are met with exceptional service and refined touches that result in truly extraordinary experiences. The Resort will assemble over 600 diverse and talented Team Members to bring Pier Sixty-Six to life and create a new legacy by providing memorable experiences and stellar service to our guests and residents. We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded Bell Captain to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort opening team!

 

Reporting to the Director of the Front Office, the Bell Attendant will perform all duties connected with meeting and greeting and assist in ensuring the delivery and retrieval of luggage to all guests in a courteous, timely, and professional manner in accordance with Pier Sixty-Six, AAA, and Forbes Travel Guide Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all bell desk operations, including guest arrivals, departures, luggage handling, transportation assistance, and delivering exceptional service.
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of bell staff, ensuring they are all well-groomed, knowledgeable, and committed to consistently delivering exemplary service.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to the bell staff, ensuring efficient coverage and timely assistance to guests.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the hotel’s facilities, services, VIP guests, and local attractions to provide accurate information and recommendations to guests.
  • Assist with check-in/ check-out processes, including luggage handling, room assignments, and escorting guests to their rooms.
  • Keep records, prepare reports, and perform administrative duties related to bell desk operations as required.
  • Ability to create weekly schedules based on business demand.
  • Schedule and assign bell staff tasks.
  • Coordinate group luggage requirements and processes.
  • Prepare work orders for equipment repairs and distribute them to the engineering department.
  • Warmly greet arriving guests and provide efficient luggage assistance, ensuring a seamless check-in experience.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, provide a brief orientation of room features and assist with any special requests.
  • Manage the storage and retrieval of guest luggage with precision, maintaining accurate tracking and labeling for efficient service.
  • Maintain a polished, professional presence in the lobby, readily available to assist with guest inquiries or support the front desk team.
  • Promptly and courteously deliver packages, amenities, and other requested items directly to guest rooms.
  • Collaborate with front desk and concierge teams to ensure smooth communication regarding guest arrivals, special requests, and VIP needs.
  • Ensure the lobby, entryway, and luggage storage areas are clean, organized, and free from clutter.

Qualifications

  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work quickly and multi-task.
  • Prior experience in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality–related certification is a plus
  • Work authorization in the United States
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to eight hours per shift. 
  • Must be able to maneuver luggage carts weighing up to 200 pounds and lift and carry items up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write in the basic English language.
  • Flexible schedule required for AM and PM shifts.
